He previously served in various churches in the United States. In 2002, Dave developed a nerve disease and struggles with disability in both arms. Gloria Furman, a popular author, is his wife and primary caregiver.
Gloria Furman is a wife, mother of four young children, doula, and blogger. In 2008, her family moved to the Middle East to plant Redeemer Church of Dubai, where her husband, Dave, serves as the pastor.
