Tom Gilson

Tom Gilson is a senior editor of The Stream, author of the new 2016 parent-friendly guide to keeping kids in the faith, titled Critical Conversations: A Christian Parents’ Guide to Discussing Homosexuality With Teens, and the chief editor of True Reason: Christian Responses to the Challenge of Atheism. In late 2017 he released A Christian Mind: Thoughts on Life and Truth in Jesus Christ, a collection of his best original writing on his popular Thinking Christian blog. His 200-plus published articles include works published in Touchstone Magazine, Salvo, Breakpoint Online, and the blog at First Things.

He lives in southwest Ohio with Sara, his wife. His two twenty-something children were both married in the past year, with one of the couples now living nearby in Ohio, and the other in Augusta, Georgia.

Tom received a B.Mus. in Music Education with a specialty in performance from Michigan State University. He served on staff with Cru for 34 years, including several years of service as a Human Resource Director, five years as Director of Strategic Processes, and two years on loan as a strategy specialist and writer with the Chuck Colson Center for Christian Worldview. During his time at headquarters with Cru he also earned an M.S. in Organizational Psychology from the University of Central Florida.
